Psychology/Sociology/Social Work Club
The Psychology/Sociology/Social Work Club is a student-run organization to facilitate student interests and further our education in these areas of study and to bring awareness both on and off campus.
Our mission shall be to expand knowledge in three emphasis areas: Social Work, Psychology, and Sociology, and explore career pathways for students of Hawkeye Community College.
Membership
Any Hawkeye student who is interested in learning more about the psychology, sociology, or social work major may join the club.
Students are not required to attend every meeting, but are encouraged to attend or participate in club activities as often as possible.
Activities and Events
The Psychology/Sociology/Social Work Club provides information to students about upcoming college tours, events in the community relating to these emphasis areas, conferences, and we participate in a service activity. Each semester, based on the interests of student members, the club organizes a tour of the Black Hawk County Jail and Independence Mental Health Institute. We are always open to new ideas for tours related to these areas of study.
Meeting Times — Fall 2022
Psychology/Sociology/Social Work Club will meet the first and third Thursday of each month from 12:00–12:55pm in Black Hawk Hall 237.
